1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames? "My name is Kellie De'Vol. My father insists that the De'Vol name stretches back for centuries, even into the early age of the dragonmarked houses, but its kinda hard to believe, you know? I mean, if we're really such an ancient, important family, why do we live in a tiny little cottage in a little nothing of a village in Karrnath?" 2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign? "Not easy! I grew up in a small village just a few miles from the border with Cyre, so it was nothing unusual to have troops come through, either Karrnathi or Cyran. A few times battles broke out, and our local healers were called into service to care for the wounded soldiers. The stories they told about some of them - that they weren't even living - were hard to believe until I saw it myself. I mean, we all heard the stories that the army was being filled with zombies, but... who would believe it? Then I saw a unit of undead soldiers come through. My mother screamed, but... I found them strangely fascinating. I guess thats when I started realizing that I... um... never mind." "I still remember the Day of Mourning though; it was easy to see from where we lived, at least the last of it. Since then life has been alot quieter. There have been more troops stationed in town, but we never saw another battle after that." "Anyway, I left home about a year ago, just after my thirteenth birthday. I had a rather, um, surprising present appear that day, and it changed everything. From there I went to the Cyr-- I mean, the Mournlands, since I thought it would be the best place to... um... anyway, I didn't get far, and for a while it looked like it would be the last thing I'd ever see. But, then I met Modi! He saved my life that day. That was six months ago, and we've been together ever since." 3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them. "I suppose I was liek alot of kids and looked up to my parents growing up. My father was a soldier, but he's been retired for as long as I can remember. He used to tell stories about fighting in great battles. His stories always made war sound so romantic, like epic clashes against forces of evil, but it didn't seem like that at all when it was at our doorstep. But the undead... its amazing to look at them and realize they aren't really alive, and yet there they are, standing toe to toe and holding their own, even without any flesh! It was... um... I can see how those necromancer types would be interested in something like that. Not that I am one or anything!" 4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like? "I've never really had any training. Like I said, my thirteenth birthday, I went through a chaneg that at least so far has changed my life in ways that I could've never imagined! And yet... when it happened, the things it made me think about seemed somehow natural, like it was meant to be. Weird huh?" 5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs? "Um, religion? I, um, don't really have a religion. As for morals, I guess I'm about normal in that regard. You know, live and let live, stuff like that. I'm really not that interesting." 6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits? "Um, physical traits? What, you mean like a dragonmark? No, nothing like that... I'm told I play with my hair when I'm nervous, but... I've never really noticed that myself. You'd think I would notice, wouldn't you? I mean, it is my hair..." (Ed. note: She was playing with her hair as she answered this question. In fact, she was playing with her hair through most of this interview) 7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship. "Well, theres Modi! Um, I mean, Amodius... he's the one I mentinoed earlier. Did I mentioned he saved my life? He's so wonderful, I wish he would... um, ohmygods! Please don't print that!" 8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem? "Mental problems? I don't think so... I mean, nobody has ever said I did. Do you think I do? Wait... are you trying to imply something with that question? Thats it isn't it? You think I'm crazy!" 9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling? "Well, other than the fact that I have to sleep in a bedroll while travelling? Though, I've gotten used to that, so its not so bad. Its better now with Modi there with me... but, um, we don't sleep together or anything! He's just, um, there, with me." 10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs? "Well, I really haven't had a chance to meet the others yet. I mean, I've seen a few, but other than Modi, its been little more then a smile and wave. As for Modi... he's great. Did I mention he saved my life?" 11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies? "Well, getting to know the others would help! But theres Modi, and I don't think he and I can get much closer... um... ohmygods, that came out so wrong! Please don't print that either!" 12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works? "Well, I'm just trying to understand these, um... changes I've been going through. Thats my main focus right now. It still feels a little weird, but I'm starting to understand my new powe-- I mean, um, changes. You know, growing like a weed my father always said!" 13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group? "...Huh? Um... I've always found magic interesting, I thought maybe I'd try that. I'm not really cut out for swinging a sword, not like Modi. He's so strong... muscles everywhere... um, next question!" 14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person? "Is that some sort of trick question? You wanna know who I find attractive, who I want to have sex with, right? If thats what you want, at least ask me straight out! I'm not gonna tell you either way; my sex life is between me and Modi... um. I shouldn't have said that..." 15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different? "Its always great to meet interesting people, but I can't really think of anyone in particular..."

Well, I just beat Starcraft (YAY!!!!!!!!!) so i guess I'll answer these.
1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames?
"My name is Hyperion. My older siblings used to call me Hyper, you know the way most people shorten their younger siblings names, as a sign of affection."
2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign?
"Well, I grew up on the island of Stormhold, and for a son of a Great House, I had a difficult childhood. No one ever told me what was going on in the world. I was born after the war started and no one even told me about it untill I became an apprentice. After I found out, and completed my training, I ran away to Sharn, because I wanted to serve my house. Though they were hesitant at first, I was stationed onboard the airship Norad II, where I worked as a special ops agent of sorts. Since the wars end, I have maintained a low profile, but now I think it's time to set out and fulfill my dreams."
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them.
"It's difficult to hold my relatives as role-models after I found out they were keeping secrets from me. Of course, I seek to be a great artificer, like my master is, so I guess he could be a role-model, though I haven't seen him in a good five years. I also held the captain of the Norad II as a role model. When the ship was shot down, he stayed at the tiller to give everyone enoguh time to use the life rings, but he himself never made it off."
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like?
"Well, I had a master-apprentice sort of relationship with my master. Nothing to special, but I admired him and looked up to him. He was kind, he looked out for me, he was the only one would tell me what went on in the world."
5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs?
"Duty to the House, the Family, and The Soverign Host. In that order."
6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits?
'Well, I tend to get jumpy when I'm nervous or excited, such as when I'm on a fastmoving airship, feeing the wind rushing on my face. I also tend to think aloud...oops, did I just say that? As far as traits, well, I have the House Lyrander sea serpent Dragonmark on my upper left forearm."
7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship.
"I have an iffy relationship with my family, I still haven't forgiven them. I have not seen my master in some time, I know not if he lives. After the fall of the Norad II, I pretty much stopped meeting the people I knew. (Mostly the crew of the ship.) But we still see each other once in a while."
8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem?
((OOC, I'm not sure what is a phobia and what isn't, so I'll treat the question like it said 'fears')) "Well, I, uh...no, that's personal! If anyone finds out I'm scared of spiders, they'd...oh no. I just said that aloud, didn't I?"
9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling?
"Well, I usually spent most of the day outside of Sharn practicing my skills...and looking to the sky, longing to again be on an airship, and maybe pilot it this time. In another life, on the Norad II, I slept ((Do half elves sleep in your games?)) in a cabin, woke up, studied blueprints of enemy bases, to know if the crew would need me to undo a lock or something. I long for that thrill again..."
10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs?
"Well, there's that warmage gal, who seems to be a little weak at heart, frgile. I hope she doesn't fear airships or we won't get along too well. Then there is that young human, who weilds a great huge axe. Seems a little barbaric to me, but I'd be greatful for a little protection on the battlefield..."
11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies?
"As neither party has done anything to gain the other's trust, I really think that's where we need to start to answer this."
12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works?
"I want to fly an airship...I know I can, I have the dragonmark. I don't much are for treasure, but I would maybe like a small reputation, to show my family that I'm not a baby anymore. Flying home on an airship would do it."
13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group?
"I want to be among those daring Windwright Captains, who can fly airships with ease. I can do it, I know I can. If I find time, I want to explore my dragonmark deeper as well." ((OOC: The plan is to go Artificer 10/Windright Captain5/Dragonmark Heir5. Maybe not in that order, but that is the final layout.))
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person?
"I'm not so sure I could do something like that. Not after what my family did to me."
15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different?
"Monsters...? Enemies...? As long as they don't try to kill me, I'll talk with anyone. Getting in contact with the crew of Norad II would be fantasti...Maybe one day I too could take on an apprentice, like my master before me."
16. Write down as many one-word adjectives that strongly describe your character’s personality as you can.
Likeable, kind, soft, eager, excited, daring, hyper (Sometimes), brave, independant.
17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one?
"I come from the island of Stormhome, and I am the youngest son of house Lyrander. I seek to furthur my house, and prove myself to my family."
18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character?
He wants to fly an airship...wait you knew that.
When do we start? (Friday afternoon game)

1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames?
”I go by Amodius. My close allies used to call me Modi, but no more. I spit upon their pitiful lives. Only Kel has the honor of using that name. Call me Amodius.”
2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign?
”I grew up with my tribe, the Crimson Blades. Until the exiled me, the bastards. My enemies quivered in my wake, and died dishonorable deaths. It is not my fault my “allies” died as well. If they can’t stand up to zombies, what good are they anyway? Just because it was MY foes came back didn’t mean I had anything to do with it. Fools. If only the elder had more respect for my power, I wouldn’t be out here. Kel understands. She is the only one who understands. I’ll kill them all someday.”
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them.
”Kel seems to understand this damned tattoo better than I do. She seems to think it does something, but I’m not quite sure what. If she likes it though, it is worth looking into. She’d be so impressed if I figured it out.”
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like?
”When I was younger I always thought I’d someday be the Grand Blade. He was always the best, and I learned how to kill from him. It was by his instruction that I had my first kill. He supported my exile. Bastard. He’ll be the last to die.”
5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs?
”Beliefs? That’s simple. If you’re weak, you’ll support the strong, or you’ll die, because the strong don’t support you. Any fool who doesn’t understand this deserves nothing but death, and if I’m to deal it, I’ll claim their wealth, and if they aren’t lucky their soul. Now that’s pleasure! Almost half as good as Kel feels after the sun goes down. Too bad you’ll never know.”
6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits?
”Other than this d**n mark on my arm that keeps me awake at night, I got a scar on my left side after a powerful beast tried to eat me. Never quite healed right. Kel always asks if it hurts . . . I’ll make sure she’ll never know much.”
7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship.
”My girl, Kel. She’s all I have left. After the Blades exiled me, I wandered the border of the Mournland for a while, just looking for a fight. Well, I found one, and ended up saving Kel’s life in the process. She’s strong though, might well have survived on her own. Hasn’t left my side since. Kel’s the best lover a man could want. Strong, beautiful, and ripe as a fresh orange. Got a mind on her I could never hope to understand. She keeps me strong when I feel weak - but don’t tell her I said that.”
8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem?
”I’ll never let my guard down. I know they’re out there, and they won’t surprise me. Don’t tell me no one is watching, they are ALWAYS watching. I’ll kill them all.”
9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling?
”When we’re traveling, Kel likes to get herself into trouble. Have to stay alert and by her side, otherwise she might get eaten. Couldn’t live with myself if that happened. When we’re in town, I like to relax and enjoy Kel– err, myself. Enjoy myself. d**n, let it slip. Well, you know, hard traveling the roads this time of year after all, a man’s got to relax with his lover a time or two, eh? Next question.”
10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs?
”Kel’s my girl. My only bonded. Any man to give her a funny look, lay a finger on her or make her mad will taste death’s sweet embrace. I’ve no patience for fools who don’t respect that she is mine.
I hate new faces. That means I have to figure out if they’re watching me, or possible bonded allies. Not many strong allies out here, and I’ll cleave anyone who I find out is watching me into the next world. New allies WOULD be helpful – the more of us the stronger we are. But if they try to exile me again I’ll kill them all and let Kel practice that new magic she was talking about. What did you call it Kel Kel? Animate fool?”
11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies?
”They’d have to not be foolish enough to watch me, that’s what. If I find they’re watching me, they are good as dead. I don’t make allies easy, but if we share a few good kills there might be something worth a bond. Three types of people in the world – bonded, neutrals, and dead fools.”
12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works?
”There are three things that are important. Power and strength. Bonded allies. Precious metals. All three together are the measure of a man. Kel was talking about some magic thing that could make me stronger. That is worth looking into.”
13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group?
”Kel really seems to be interested in this d**n mark, and we both share it. I think she’ll be impressed when I figure the d**n thing out. After that, who knows? There is always a better way to kill, and I’ll find it.”
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person?
”What is this family thing I hear about? How does that work? And why by the Dark Six do people have such small tribes here? Fools.”
15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different?
”As long as they are not watching me, a man can always use bonded allies. As long as they leave Kel well enough alone.”
19. How did the Last War effect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them?
"The Crimson Blades originally broke off from the armies of Karrnath near the middle of the last war. While it was going on, we raided many of the supply camps between Cyre and Karrnath, on both sides. After Cyre became the Mournland, strange things started to happen. About the time that cursed mark appeared on my arm my foes started coming back as zombies. Hasn't happened much since I left the blades, but hopefully I can get it to come back. Kel loves that sort of thing."

1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames?
Renae Del'arnee is what the trainers named the little gir that ended up on their doorstep when she first got there... and through the years, and several trainers, she ended up with several nicknames, she was called Ren by her second trainer, Dela by her second, Cornae by her third... an odd name she thought but that trainer was slow of thought and didn't have much for names, the list goes on... and she has little memory to remember all of the nicknames, but the name she likes the most and the one that her favorite trainer called her is Sparks.... this name came about whenever she is sitting alone or doing just nothing at all she likes to just make sparks from her fingertips and play with them in her hands.
2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign?
Renae.... or as I shall now call her Sparks.... had a peacefull but ver difficult childhood, by being raised in a school for warmages she never really learned how to laugh, or play, she spent her time learning the arts of magic and the ways of the warmage... she however does have a little childishness still in her which she uses, much to her trainers dismay, to use to play practical jokes and to well play, only in her own unique way. She spent every moment of her freetime doing extra training, having been trained predominatly around humans she felt like she was slow because al of the initiates passed her and moved on well before she did, this pushed her strong natured will ahead and she forced herself to train harder than anyone had, and it provided that for her race she was the youngest initiate to ever pass the warmages trails.... Sparks then was set out upon the world, she never lost her good nature and strong willpower (Or her love for practical jokes for that matter) and this caused her to go to the place she thought would lead to be the most challenge... Sharn.... she found life to mot be as easy as she thought it would be... and this pushed on her strong will and she forced herse;f to adapt to this strange new life.....
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them.
Sparks has had too many role-models through her life, because of her races natural long life, and slow progression she outlived most of her trainers in school. but everyone of them acted in a good way to her.... her two favorite trainers however were her first, and her last, the first raised her through the times when she could barely even speak yet alone cast, and he taught her to speak, and taught her to cast, even if it took forever to teach such a young child he took it upoin himself to never let her down and this made a lasting impression on sparks... who to him was still just Renae.... having been the one toname her.... Sparks last teacher was her first female teacher.... and this proved to be very lasting on sparks... not only did she get training in being a warmage, but a little in how to act as a lady (being as she had been raised with all men).... she started to take on these womanly traits..... and this led her to being the favorite among everyone in the school..... but, the reason she liked this trainer most, was that it was she that pushed sparks to take the test a full two years ahead of her classmates.... and she always respected that she had always beliverd in sparks...... (plus she liked the cool name the trainer gave to her)
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like?
See above......
5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs?
Sparks was never raised very religously... all she had was her training in becomming a warmage.. and this ld her to a very deep belief in magic... and so wheever asked about her religion she just merely tells them that magic raised her and it was the magic that controled the world.. and this is all she believes in... this nature leaves her to be quite neutral in attitudes... and being trained by so many people with contrasting views on how things should be approached..... she has kept this neutrality... although she does li,me to cause a bit of mischeif (but who of us doesn't)
6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits?
Sparks is quite beautiful... and these traits show.. however she doesn't flaunt her beauty much... she wasn't raised to attract attention (attention leads the creatures to her.... she was taught and she loves to be a ranged caster mainly).... she is quite frail... and though she is quite strong illed... she is not very strong in power..... and it has been shown that she gets sick rather easily.... one of Sparks biggest "Quirks" is the fact that she does what she was nicknamed for... she loves to just play with sparks in her hands and on her fingertips... nothing big enough to know that she will actually be casting a spell... but her control over her magic allows hwr to just play on the fringes of casting without doing so... leading to this paying with sparks effect....
7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship.
She has lost most of her close relationships... she recently found out through letter that her last trainer... the one who named her sparks.. had passed away... she was quite saddened by this, but having outlived all of her trainers now, she was not surprised..... but her nature doesn't work wel for friends outsideof the casting communities... she was raised around all casters or people aspiring to become casters... and this didn't allow her to be very tollerant of those who were inclined to fighting in close quarters.... thouigh she has since learned to respect their braveness and foolhartedness... they are quite usefull....
8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem?
The only mental problem sparls has is her lack of laughter... you will never see her laugh... and even at the funniest joke she will look puzzled at what happened and look down upon anyone who is laughing..... she probably will never laugh either she doesn't even laugh at the jokes she plays on others..... her trainers always found this as the odd part of her joke playing tendencies... her only phobia is that of swimming in the water... when she was about 10 years old.... she was dropped into the lake near tarth moorda as a joke by a boy in one of the tyraining classes.... ever since she doesn't even like to take a bath.... though she does... she will never swim... unless it is absolutly nescessary
9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling?
Sparks had quite a scheduled life while in the school, but now tht she is on her own... she still eeps to about the same order, she wakes up, once a week she bathes.... (if possible) then she prepares, or buys her breakfeast and eats it, then she goes and trains for at least an hour.... then she heads out.. and in the city just finds something to occupy her time... whle traveling... she sets out to head to where she is going... she eats lunch when she is huingry... and eats dinner in the same fassion... then when she is tired she rertires for the night..... and that is her basic routine.
10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs?
Well... Sparks doesn't mucjh like other people... there seems to be another girl in the group.. which intrigues sparks... she hasn't ever really taked to another girl... around er respective age..... she hopesto get along with her new party... however she doubts that she will like them much..... not a big fan of people.... almost as bad as water people are
11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies?
To become closer and better allies... sparks would need to see that they are useful.. and reliable... and that they are as strong willed as she herself is... she won't stand if they all get lazy and forget something that willl prove to be important... it wouldn't do for her personality one bit.
12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works?
Al Sparks cares about is the order... all she is doing is for them.. and now without their constant hand in her life she feels a little lost, though she hopes to return to them one day with great news of how she lived while away from them... and hopes that they will welcome her back with en arms... and she would love to be allowed to take up teaching... she coule teach initiates for a very long time.. but for now she must get to that point... she adventures mostly for personal gain... not in wealth..l but in power, and knowledge... she is strong willed and this leads her to needing to know all she can.... and adventuring can teach her those things
13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group?
No mult-casting is planned... she grew up with other warmages.. and learned that they were the best and that traitors to their class.. were not alowed into the order... and that is all she wants.. to teach initiates... though she must adventure first.. to fine tune her training and to learn all she can to fill the heads of those who need it filled
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person?
She hasn't ever even thought of a relationship, let alone a family, by her small experiances with other people outside the order (most of which have no families) she has found that none of them seem to fit her... and she would probably kill a man if she had to wake up to him every morning... though after being on her own now, she has wondered a little about why men and women become active together.... adn has even thought of dating someone.... but..... that will yet to be seen.......
15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different?
I thik she would like to meet new people and to specifically become more of a people person.... she has always seen what a good relationship can do, but outside those of her own kind (warmages that is) she does not feel that bond... of having been to Tarth Moorda.... training there passing the rigorous tests..... being strong willed... but, she has been trying... and has progressed much in accepting those of other uprisings.
(These are kinda repeat, specific questions, may have been answered beforehand).
16. Write down as many one-word adjectives that strongly describe your character’s personality as you can.
StrongWilled, determined, hard-working, tough, fragile, kind, funny but not to herslef, not youthfull, prety.
17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one?
no house ties... not that she knows of at least, and she wants to be in the order... that is her organization..... she is from Sharn... but only recently found that out.... and so has always thought of herself as just being from Tarth Moorda
18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character?
Not really.... just that she may play jokes on others that won't be funny.... but if I play her right... she will prgress to being fit like a glove to most everyone she meets... and she is deffinetly smart and stong willed... and I will play her like that
19. How did the Last War effect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them?
The last war didn't really effect Sparks,.. al she knew of it was that many of the order went to fight in it... and she was in Tarth Moorda the entire time... and only heard of the number of the order that came back dead... or died in battle... she didn't feel much like it effected her much... because not many of the order residing in Tarth Moorda actually went to war... they were all there to teach....
Edit: note. I didn't read what others had done... I like the way you all put it in first person answers.. wish i had now..... but, I think I did quite a fine job personally.... though... if you don't.... then go F**k yoursevles.... (don't worry sparks doesn't feel that way.... sometimes) oh and I actualy read ALL of your guys answers... (printed it out... did you know it was 10 pages long....) and yo guys had awesome answers... loved everyone of them

So cork won’t feel alone (and since my character is probably a bit too private to put everything in his own words), I’ll answer in third person, as well. First, a basic history, then the questions: History: During the Last War, “Neerzakhad” (then unnamed) was one of 12 warforged sent on a secret mission to the long-distant mountainous land of Adar, where a monastery was rumored to possess an artifact of tremendous power. This artifact could turn the tides of the war. The residing monks defended their home valiantly, felling all the living constructs except one, who made it to the hidden vaults beneath the structure. But there the warforged confronted the monastery’s spiritual leader, a Kalashtar Psion named Vedimelk, who contacted him mentally to overcome their lack of a common tongue. The Kalashtar said that he would step aside and allow the warforged to take the artifact, if the construct could adequately explain why he deserved it. The warforged was very injured, and hoping to avoid a fight that he concluded he might not win, he tried to answer the psion’s query. But the concept of someone “deserving” power, rather than just having it, was foreign to the warforged, and all his words of why his masters needed it rang hollow. And then the psion explained why no one should _ever_ use it; it only caused destruction. And only to those with strong, open minds. (This artifact is basically the Annulus from the Expanded Psionics Handbook). The warforged’s leaders wished to use it to force both the Kalashtar and their enemies, the Inspired, both psionic races, to fight in this Last War. It was better that no one use the artifact, especially not the living construct’s masters, who had already enslaved one race. It took many moments for it to dawn on him that the psion meant the warforged themselves. Convinced of the truth of this, the warforged became despondent over the deaths of so many monks at his hands, for a battle that held no purpose. And there was the realization that returning empty handed would mean his own dismantling. So he chose to remain with the monks, and guard the artifact himself from future attempts by his now-former masters to retrieve it. (Of course, it’s possible he was mentally ‘nudged’ in this direction by the psion leader. We’ll probably never know). The warforged was given a name, and ably, and single-mindedly, defended the monastery for over a decade. Eventually, Vedimelk convinced the warforged that living in the monastery and not learning what they had to teach was a waste, and so Neerzakhad slowly learned the ways of the psychic warrior. When the Last War ended, Vedimelk told the warforged it was now safe to return to the outside world. With the war ended, the threat to the artifact, while not gone entirely, was greatly diminished, and it was time for Neerzakhad to do as all other psychic warriors had done; to go out in the world and let it teach what the monks could not. 1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames? The warforged psychic warrior has no name given by his creators, nor his original purchasers. The monks of the Monastery of the Vigilant Spirit named him ‘Neerzakhad’, which in Quori means “He who stands between.” He’s generally content to answer to any name given to him, even if insulting. 2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign? See above for history. Neerzakhad has traveled all over Khorvaire over the last 2 years, learning that the results of the Last War were as useless as the original mission it had sent him on. There is more than a little guilt that he did not fight and be destroyed in the war as so many of his fellow warforged did. As many warforged, he has come to Sharn seeking a purpose, a reason for his existence. 3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them. His original confusion over the uselessness of war brought him a lot of turmoil in his early years at the monastery, but the tranquility of the monks was something he aspired to. He especially looks up to Vedimelk, for convincing him of the futility of war. 4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like? The psychic warrior disciples of Vedimelk trained him, but it was the psion whose approval he sought. 5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs? Serving someone (or some thing, as in a deity) is a noble cause, but only if you know, truly know, what it is you are serving. It is almost always better to say nothing, than to lie. 6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits? Unusual for a warforged: he prefers defending others rather than being the aggressor in a conflict. Also, most warforged have learned to adopt some of the mannerisms of “normal folk”, but spending most of his life in a monastery cut him off from that. He doesn’t always understand the point of humor. And when concentrating, he stares in a random direction, sometimes at a person, not realizing how disconcerting his gaze can be. 7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship. He has a strong mentor/student relationship with Vedimelk, of course. Also, during his long period of “guard duty” before he took up training, a human monk named Jevelin, who dreamed of developing psionic powers, tried to bond with the warforged. Neerzakhad enjoyed his company, but was a little too single minded in his duty to be a good friend. Unfortunately, Jevelin never developed psionics, and when the warforged began his training, Jevelin left the monastery, apparently angry that Neerzakhad was able to develop mental abilities while he had not. 8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem? This warforged has a deep fear that someday, someone will force him to fight for them against his will, either through mental domination or some form of extortion. If anyone ever tries that sort of thing (and fails), Neerzakhad will either flee the situation… or possibly go berserk on the person who made the attempt. 9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling? Warforged have very little they have to do each day, without the need to eat or sleep. When traveling, he is typically in no hurry, yet travels the straightest path; going by foot but ignoring roads and just forcing his way through terrain obstacles (not people, of course, but vegetation, small rivers, etc.) towards his destination. In a city, including Sharn, he is very different, being very careful not to “get in anyone’s way” and cause a scene; yet he is always looking for ways to be helpful. Trying to do both in a large city is nearly impossible, but he continues nonetheless. 10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs? My character is going to be very disappointed to learn that the artificer has no ranks in Craft, and so can’t help in his repair. He will probably feel most comfortable with Scipio, since he spent so much time with Kalashtar at the monastery. Sparks seems dedicated enough to be a strong ally. As for Kellie and Amodius… well… I’m sure we’ll get along smashingly. 11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies? We’ll need to find some common ground; a goal we can all care about. It might only take seeing how we all fare in battle to lead us to respecting each other. 12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works? Short tern goal: find a worthwhile purpose for a non-warlike warforged. As for rewards, well… I’ll probably want to pay someone to repair me on occasion, so treasure will certainly be useful. Political power could be interesting, if it meant convincing other warforged to not be as warlike as I’m sure many are, and to work towards warforged rights. Doing good works: “good” is a relative term for Neerzakhad; he wants to _accomplish_ things that are worthwhile and progressive; things that will last as long as he will (which may be a long time for a warforged). 13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group? A lot of what I put for short term (political power, accomplishing things) can be seen as long-term too. I probably won’t multiclass… Neerzakhad can be very single minded. By 10th level I’d like to have done something truly worthy of historical record. 14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person? Somewhere hidden very deep within him, Neerzakhad believes warforged are capable of making, and feeling, the same sort of romantic relationships that the other races participate in, even if reproduction is impossible. So, although he expects it to be very unlikely, the idea of a “mate” holds a tiny bit of intrigue. 15. Interesting enemies, especially. Ones with goals that some of us may not completely disagree with; we might disagree with their methods but not their ideals. Neerzakhad is always looking for people who need his help, and meeting warforged affected by the Last War in ways different than myself could be interesting. 16. Write down as many one-word adjectives that strongly describe your character’s personality as you can. Single-minded. Honest (but not a fanatic about it). Seeker. Defender. Philosopher. 17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one? I’d pick a country, but I haven’t read everything in the books yet; I was originally sent by one of the five nations, but it sounds (from the little I’ve read) that none of them were particularly “right” or “wrong” in the war. Perhaps Karrnath is best for who I originally worked for. Most of my existence has been in the monastery in Adar. No plans to belong to any given organization, but could work for one; even directly serve one, if I believed in their goals. 18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character? It’s going to take a lot to knock my character out (lots of HPs, high AC, DR), but I’m slow as molasses and don’t do a lot of damage, so it should balance out. 19. How did the Last War effect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them? That’s mostly covered in my history. I was in the Monastery of the Vigilant Spirit in Adar up until a couple of weeks after the treaty was signed. Whew…. That took awhile. Looking forward to the game, waper9

Player Character Questionnaire
1. What is the character's name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames?
You may refer to me as Havoc. As for nicknames I have been in the past called "tin can", "bucket of bolts", "trashcan with legs" and so on by beings that no longer draw breath. Such nomenclature often leads to ripped appendages, bashed skulls, and generally a bloody, gruesome death.
2. What is the character's history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign?
Childhood ? Warforged are tools, items and objects. Expendable. We have no childhood. I walked the wastes of mournlands for 5 years fighting foes at every turn, even as the very lands rot and ate my flesh leaving, me naught be a steel shell. Dreams.. whispers, I have memories that are not mine, feelings that I should not feel, and only a burning hate that fortified my iron discipline kept me sane and alive.
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them.
I pity those who have need for heroes and idols. I am my own champion.
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character's relationship with this teacher like?
The voice in my dreams.. never knew warforged are capable of it, it whispers things I should not normally know. I fought and I taught myself, somehow I always just knew. Fallen foes and the whispers and memories in my mind are my teachers.
5. What are the character's moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs?
Strong survive, while the weak perish. I learnt the hard way during the 5 years I spent wandering the maddening wastes of mournlands.
6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits?
Though he is a warforged and does not breathe, every few minutes he lets out a wheezing cough. He walks with a hunched gait, much like a very old man would.
7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship.
My foes lie in a pool of their own blood, or body fluid. Over the years the voices in my mind have whispered about these "feelings" of hate, anger, rage, trust, love and friendship. In mournlands, my hate and anger served me well but I have always felt an emptiness.. that it cannot fill.
8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem?
I mastered my fears. Mournlands does not suffer the weak.
9. What is the character's normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling?
Havoc has not really spent much time among civilization. In cities he likes to avoid people, even those tolerant of warforged tend to despise him. Other than trying to stay inconspicuous, not much changes.
10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs?
I do not regard organic beings highly. However, I grant them permission to prove me wrong.
11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies?
I wont kill them…..yet. Fight with strength, show some rudimentary intelligence, and basic instincts for survival maybe then we'll see how it goes. The voices don't shut up, maybe they'll have something to say about this.
12. What are the character's short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works?
I act because it keeps me sane. Lethargy leads to insanity, the dreams give me direction. I had no need for gold in mournlands, but here I see the value for it. Fame and gold are valuable assets, and I seek both.
13. What are the character's long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group?
I have memories of ruins, people, and feelings none I experienced, yet they fill my head. The one memory that is imprinted strongest is an expedition to xen'dirk one I intend to make myself.
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person?
I wandered the wastes with a human female for a year or two, felt feelings that I was sure warforged were not capable of feeling. Mournlands it seems has eaten more than my flesh. But really, do you wish to die so soon ?
15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different?
I seek allies of like mind and foes who die with valor. Forget the valor part, as long as they're dead, Im happy. I don't really remember much about the human I traveled with, it would amusing to learn her fate.
(These are kinda repeat, specific questions, may have been answered beforehand).
16. Write down as many one-word adjectives that strongly describe your character's personality as you can.
Calm, cold, patient, thoughtful, philosophical, brutal, efficient, calculating.
17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one?
I believe I was forged in Mournlands, and I owe no one my allegiance. Perhaps in the future it may change, with time the whispers change, dreams evolve.
18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character?
Havoc wandered Mournlands for 5 years, during which he started hearing voices, having dreams, and memories that surely weren't his own. His fibers and flesh rotted away, leaving only his metal exoskeleton, and a pair of blue eyes that eerily resemble that of a human. He walks with a hunched gait and coughs every now and then.
19. How did the Last War effect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them?
He is what he is because of the Mournlands. He does not know much of what has happend as his focus was survival.

1. What is the character's name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames?
My name is Serenity. Though how I managed to acquire that name from my father I shall never know.
2. What is the character's history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign?
Do you truly wish to know about my childhood? Well… My father was a warlord by the name of Rungnir. Seeing all the bloodshed and violence was never a good sight in my eyes. My father tried to get me to be more like my brothers, but I just couldn’t. I couldn’t hurt people. Eventually I was to be my father’s next assassination. Somehow I managed to get out of there in time, but there wasn’t much for me within the city.
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them.
Role models? I can’t say that I have any. I can’t say I ever looked up to any member of my family. My teacher was someone to look up to, but I wasn’t with him very long. He died within a year of my staying with him.
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character's relationship with this teacher like?
With all the bloodshed that transpired, I sought to find some small smidgen of light within the tyranny. I traveled to the city of Vulyar in search of someone who may be able to help me. A man named Sylan was the one I was sent to. He taught me my art of healing. He even helped me understand my spirit. I miss him so.
5. What are the character's moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs?
Peace is what is needed within the world. No violence, no wars, tranquility and happiness. We need to help the less fortunate. Give to them the things that they need in order to give us true happiness.
6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits?
I choose not to carry money. I choose not to have any at all. Everything I earn, everything I acquire I give to the less fortunate.
7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship.
Many relationships I once had are now severed. My family has disowned me, my teacher has now died. There is much I have lost, and yet… when I see people without food or shelter, my heart aches for them. They need my help.
8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem?
I fear for the deaths of others.
9. What is the character's normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling?
I travel by day trying to spread what I believe to be true. If I acquire gold or other trinkets they are given to the less fortunate. I carry very little no matter where I go. I dare not fight for I may harm someone, or worse, kill them. If traveling, I like to talk to others.
10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs?
I do not agree with their tactics, but I hardly know many of them. Hopefully they will see that fighting is not always the answer.
11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies?
They are my allies until the day they do something unforgivable. 12. What are the character's short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works?
I wish to spread peace to the world. I wish to help the less fortunate, to ease their suffering.
13. What are the character's long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group?
I wish to save all that I can. As many people as possible.
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person?
I have wandered the Mournlands with a creature of sorts. He is kind to me. He makes me smile and seems to create a sense of calm within me that is different than normal. I don’t know how he received his name either. Though I am sure it is probably the same as I received mine.
15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different?
I seek the people; the ones who have little that need help. I don’t wish to harm anyone, nor do I wish for any of my companions to do so as well. An attacker must be offered a chance to surrender. Though, it would be nice to meet someone who is like me, just once, so I may ask them a few questions.
(These are kinda repeat, specific questions, may have been answered beforehand).
16. Write down as many one-word adjectives that strongly describe your character's personality as you can.
Caring, Calm, Patient, Peaceful, Concerned, Motherly, Philanthropic, Unselfish, Humane, Selfless, Altruistic
17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one?
Though I am not fond of where I come from, my home is within the city of Karrlakton. My family has disowned me, and my ties to that city are slim to none, though I never wish to return there ever again.
18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character?
Serenity is a loving person who tries her best to help others. No matter what someone does, she will never willingly let them die, even the bad guys. If one of her arch enemies, not that she has any really, happens to be hurt to almost dying, she will attempt to save their life.
19. How did the Last War effect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them?
Wars are all the same with my family. This last one just made me hate them even more. The treaty of Thronehold had no effect on me at all. I am glad that they had settled their differences and made peace with one another. As for the Day of Mourning, I was traveling, oddly enough to the area that was desecrated. I was hoping to help resolve some of the conflict. I was too late.

Player Character Questionnaire
1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames? ”Jin. Very simple. Very direct. Very boring. THAT is why I was glad when my childhood friends started calling me Midnight, due to my knack for being quite and hiding. *smiles* I can’t help it. It’s what I’m good at.”
2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign? ”Well my past. I could regale you with my stories of how I escaped a whole platoon of Vol soldiers. Or I could tell you how my child hood chum Dirk and I made off with 1000 galifers and blew it all on goodberry wine. Or possibly the night I first made it into Sharn 3 years ago. Na, all that would bore ya. *smiles*”
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them. ”My father. He was the best thief and con artist I’ve ever seen work and, in a few hush circles I might add, is still regarded as such. He taught me everything I know. Funny thing is, I’m looking for him now.”
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like? ”Uh, didn’t we just cover that?”
5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs? ”Well my code of life has always been, “If you can take it, it’s yours now.” Worked for dad. People always seem to shy away when they learn the truth of ya. Now, I’m not a bitter man. I just still from those types. *smile*”

I haven’t been caught in a looooong time. Only thing even close to that would be those Tyrant guys in the red light district. 8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem? ”Now listen. Just because I have the occasionally tendency to snatch things that aren’t mine, after which they BECOME mine, is NO reason to label me with some kind of kleptomania or such ok?”
9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling? ”Whether it’s getting up from a bed of dirt or a mattress, though I prefer a mattress and one with at least pleasurable company, I’m thankful I at least woke up.”

11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies? ”Well, people I come to consider friends, I usually don’t steal from. I mean, if these guys can actually pull off some of the stuff I’ve read in the circular, I’d imagine we can become good friends and business partners.”
12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works? “Hmm, goals….? Lets see…..Find dad. Beat the hell outta anyone if they had kidnapped him. Back to the usual. Yea, that’s about it. Rewards? Does all of the above count?”
13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group? ”Well I heard from a fellow changeling that some of our kind have learned to turn our bodies into….well weapons. They have so much control over their form that they can make all kinds of stuff outta just their hands and feet and such. I ALSO heard that there is a specialist kinda group that trains us sneaky types some more Acrobatic style. *shrugs* But who knows.”
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person? ”Ah, family. I had a decent upbringin’. Yea, I could stand a small place. My own little piece of Sharn. Little’ns runnin’ around learning to change into the next door neighbors. Ahhh….yea.”
15. ”Well I’d love to be able to find my dad, if that’s what you mean?” (These are kinda repeat, specific questions, may have been answered beforehand).

17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one? ”Well I was raised in Stormreach. Then good ol’ dad got a letter of mark from Cannith for a crafting job, did I mention he was a jeweler?, and we headed for Sharn.”
18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character? ”*blends his looks so he takes a Dwarven look” Well ye’ll jus’ ‘ave ta see woin’t ya lad?”
19. How did the Last War affect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them? “Yeesh, I was just glad we didn’t get caught up in THAT mess. I was a small child, but none the less, yuck. War is a baaad business. The Day of Mourning, yea, that’s how we lost touch with my mother’s side of the family. All gone in a blink of an eye. Kind of sad if ya think about it. *shakes his head.* Eh, oh the Treaty? Glad for that one I was. I love being around that tin heads. The ‘forged can be some of the most entertaining lot around. You just gotta find their fun side. *winks*.”

"My name is Enaris k'Phiar, and these are my companions Deyra i'Phiarlan and Isis. I don't believe any of us have nicknames as such; the closest I have is my given Aerenal name, which is not spoken outside my home."
"My childhood is about as peaceful as one could expect being raised in Aerenal. We are a very militant race, and I am no exception. My family first developed the dragonmark of shadow seven generations ago, and it has appeared at least once every other generation since. When this happens, it is family custom to take on a more house-friendly name and travel to Khorvaire, to assist our shadowmarked brethren in their efforts, before returning to Aerenal at or near the time of crossing. Since then, only one of the shadowmarked of my family has not joined the ranks of the honored ancestors, and he... is not spoken of."
"I spent much of my childhood training, or learning from my honored ancestors. I consider myself blessed to have such a rich family history and to have such access to them; not all do, even among the Aerenal."
"My paternal great, great grandfather was a servant of the Court all his life. He never developed the mark, but he devoted his first life to the service of the Undying, as well as council to the Sibling Kings. He was blessed with his second life and has since spent much time exploring the planes in his astral form. He has a wealth of knowledge no existance, and on the Undying, and I consider myself truely privledged to have learned under him."
"I fight to preserve the lives of my Elven kin; those in Khorvaire and at home. I also serve as a Deathguard, and it is my task to ensure the vile negative energies of undead beings is extinguished forever."
"I possess the Dragonmark of Shadow, which isn't entirely uncommon among my people, but it appears among the populace of Aerenal almost never since House Phiarlan broke off and established themselves in Khorvaire. In my case... nine generations ago, my ancestor took a shadowmarked mate, and her granddaughter developed the first mark in my family."
"Deyra and Isis are my companions. Deyra was new to the house when I arrived, and had only recently developed her dragonmark, so we decided to travel together. She has since taken an interest in our shared ancestry and the honored ancestors, so I teach her of the Court. Isis is... a unique case."
"During my first days in Sharn, I came upon a girl wandering the streets blindly, as if she had no place to go. The first thing that caught my attention was that she was a strikingly beautiful young woman, and it was only after she wandered past me that I noticed her attire exposed her back entirely, including a fully developed Shadowmark. From there I learned she was from Lhazaar, and had been kept as a slave; it seems there is an entire city in Lhazaar that revolves around slavery, including several marked individuals who are granted special status as 'head' slaves."
"Her owner was murdered not long after moving to Sharn, and she found herself without a home. I have no interest in being her new master, but I've found that slavery is all she knows; teaching her otherwise will take much effort, and until then, I'm afraid I must act as her master, for her own safety."
"Not that I'm aware of, no. I fear not living up to the standards of my honored ancestors, which I suppose could be classified as a phobia... if barely."
"I find I am somewhat our of place among the entertainers of House Phiarlan, so my daily routine mostly involves assisting Deyra, who is far more adept at it. Isis... does whatever she is told to do. Something I wish I could break her of, but so far, it is proving complicated. It is all she knows."
"I haven't had mmuch time to get to know anyone yet, aside from Isis and Deyra, of course, but tehy're a special case. It seems to be a fairly... diverse group."
"Isis and Deyra are my closest companions. Deyra is an ally and friend, and Isis is... I don't know, exactly. When I first found her, she was a lost child, but she has been with me for some time now, and I find our connection is growing stronger. What tht means exactly I'm uncertain, but I believe the truth will be revealed in time."
"As a member of the Deathguard I seek to eradicate beings of negative energy wherever they exist. I find Khorvaire is infested with the beings... it will take much work, sadly."
"I wish to grow closer to my undead ancestors, so that one day I might be worthy of joining them in the ranks of the Undying Court."
"I do desire a family greatly... one of my duties to my family is to ensure that it continues. However, my mate has not displayed herself yet, so that will have to happen first."
"It's always interesting to meet new people... though whether that interesting is good or bad is hard to say beforehand. I find I'm more comfortable around my own kind, and with spending time with Isis and Deyra. Trying to break Isis' slave mentaily takes up much of my free time, and I'm afraid I've made little progress."
That he is violently opposed to beings of negative energy, no matter what form they may take. The most common of course are undead.
"Many people died that day, Elves included, so I'm sure it effected me as much as most people. I didn't lose anyone personally, but destruction of that magnitude... you would have to be dead inside not to feel the significance of the loss involved. I was in Sharn at the time; I had just met Deyra, and didn't meet Isis until some time later. Still... I suppose I like many others in my position would like to see a day where the Mournland is no more, and Cyre is reborn."

1. What is the character’s name? Does (s)he have any nicknames, either now or in the past? What is the origin of these nicknames?
Name’s Nephilia, friends often call me just Neph, mages I grew up with weren’t imaginative enough to come up with something creative I assume.
2. What is the character’s history? What was childhood like for the character? Calm and peaceful, or turbulent and traumatic? What about the time just before the character joined the campaign?
I grew up in Aundair, Fairheaven to be more specific. My father knew a few mages who taught at the University of Wynarn and was able to get me apprenticed there at a young age. Life in Wynarn was quite peaceful and amusing. Though the lectures could get painfully boring at times, so I almost always skipped lessons focusing on meaningless things like illusion, necromancery, planes.. ew.
3. Does or did the character have any role models? Describe them.
O yes, Galean El’Kharis approached me when I was 15, promised he wouldn’t force me to study schools I didn’t have much interest in. He was a member of a guild sponsored by the queen herself, The Gray Covnents, a group of gifted wizards who focused on a school of magic and pooled their resources to further magical research. Galean taught me almost everything I know, he even scribed my initiation tattoo.
4. Who trained your character in his current class(es)? What was the character’s relationship with this teacher like?
As I said, Galean taught me everything about magic, he also trained me to be a diplomat. You know simple things like how to flatter a noble, lie with a straight face, negotiation, ways to dress like, relate and blend with nobles. Galean was always charming and witty for an old man, wisdom buried beneath layers of humor. Though I have been away for only a few months, I already miss him much.
5. What are the character’s moral, ethical, and/or religious beliefs?
I try not to harm others, the best course of action is one that’s mutually beneficial. Better to manipulate, coerce or enchant a foe to work for you. Friends are better than corpses after all. I am just a simple researcher, if my travels do someone good, it’s nice; if not, then I have no worries either.
6. Does the character have any unusual habits or physical traits?
Other than the big silver dragon tattoo on my thigh, or my insatiable hunger for the finer luxuries in life, I assume no.
7. What kind of relationships does the character currently have? Any close friends or bitter enemies? Describe the history of the relationship.
I have many friends at The Gray Covnents, including my mentor Galean. Having arrived recently to sharn, I haven’t had many opportunities to socialize.
8. Does the character have any mental problems or phobias? If so, from where do they stem?
I hate melee combat. I once saw a dozen guards shredded to pieces when trying to subdue a mistakenly summoned demon. Ever since, I dread getting hacked by some dumb beast without the intellect to know the difference between a fireball and a ball of fire.
9. What is the character’s normal daily routine? How does it differ in civilized areas as opposed to when traveling?
I usually don’t travel. My trip to Sharn was also my first trip out of Aundair. In more civilized areas, I usually spare no expense in making myself comfortable. What good is gold if you have to do all the heavy lifting yourself?
10. How does your character feel about each of the other PCs?
This band of elves are weird. Weirder than the ones I have met in Fairheaven. However, they have proven reliable, even if the mage is a little to unsocial to discuss and share magic with. As for the warforged, I think he is as dependable as a warforged can get. A pity the citizens of this city give so little respect to his kind.
11. How close of friends do you consider the other PCs to be to you? What would need to happen for your characters to become stronger allies?
Right now, I hardly know them. I did help them out in a tight spot and am yet to hear a word of thanks ! Maybe in time things will change.
12. What are the character’s short-term goals? What sort of adventures is s(he) looking for? What sort of rewards does (s)he care about? Treasure, fame, information, personal power, political power, doing good works?
I came to Sharn to investigate the misuse of Covnent funds by one of their fronts, the EUA. Now that business is settled, I need to find ways to raise enough gold to reestablish The Gray Covnents in Sharn. As for what I care about, it would involve fame, treasure and political power.
13. What are the character’s long-term goals? Do you expect the character to multiclass, and if so, into to what other classes, and when? What do you hope your character will accomplish by, say, 10th level? Will your character want to join (or form) any organizations, such as a guild, church, or political group?
I intend to reestablish The Gray Covonents in Sharn with myself as a circle leader. Galean insisted in diversifying our operations, and sent me to remedy the situation in Sharn.
14. Does the character ever want to have a family of his/her own? If so, who with, or with what type of person?
Possibly, though I haven’t given much thought to such matters, I would say someone with a taste for the finer things in life, intellectual and flamboyant as me.
15. What sort of NPCs would you like your character to interact with in the near future? Would you like to meet a mentor, a patron, a follower or companion, interesting allies, interesting enemies, interesting monsters, political movers and shakers, people who need your help, people of your race, people with similar beliefs to you, or something different?
I would defiantly like to meet my mentor and friends in Aundair sometime in the future. For now, It would be nice to interact with important people both politically and socially in Sharn, to entrench myself in the political system.
16. Write down as many one-word adjectives that strongly describe your character’s personality as you can.
Cheerful, impressionable, friendly, outgoing, flamboyant, intellectual and relentless.
17. What nationality is the character originally? As well as any house, organization ties? Any future plans to head into one?
As I said, I’m from Fairhaven, Aundair. Studied at the famous university of Wynarn and later joined a group called The Gray Covnents, an organization dedicated to magical research and espionage by infiltrating other kingdoms political and social structure.
18. Is there anything else the GM should know about your character?
Neph dislikes killing, loves manipulation, and feels the need to live up to Galean’s expectations.
19. How did the Last War effect the character? Where were they on the Day of Mourning? Did the treaty of Thronehold effect them?
Didn’t affect me much, was studying in Wynarn, though others were in a rush to finish their studies and run to war, I didn’t care much for all that killing. Good thing they signed the treaty, we almost ran out of teachers with all the mages getting killed in the wars.
